Xavier's Admission Test (XAT) is conducted by XLRI (Xavier Labor Relation Institute) nationally. Applicants once clear the XAT Exam will be called for the next round of the process that is Group discussion, Essay and Personnel Interview (GDPI). Approximately more than 70 institutes give admission in their college based on XAT examination. This year XAT exam 2012 was held on 8th of January 2012 and results were declared at the end of January 2012.
Courses offered in XLRI:
• Post Graduate program in Business Management (BM) and Human Resource Management (HRM). – 2 years duration • Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) – 2 years duration • Executives Post graduate program – 3 years duration – part time. This program is mainly for working executives • Personal Management and Industrial Relations Program – 2 years duration • General Management Program – 1 year duration • Fellow program in Management – 4 years duration
Eligibility Criteria:
To apply for XAT Exam, candidate has to have completed 3 years graduation course or any other equivalent course form a recognized university.
XAT course outline:
XAT exam is taken to examine three skills of a candidate namely,
a) Analytical Reasoning and Decision Making b) Logical Reasoning and verbal skills c) Data interpretation and Quantitative skills.
Analytical Reasoning and decision making skills are examined by grouping test and data arrangement test with complex arrangement.
Verbal fluency will be checked by English grammar based questions, Analogy, Para jumble and cloze test. Logical Reasoning is tested by Passage Conclusion, Statement Argument kind of test.
Quantitative skills are judged by elementary mathematics and arithmetic questions.
Apart from these subjects you also have to study, Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, probability, profit and loss statement and linear programming.

While appearing for XAT Exams you have to be very careful about the kind of answer you are writing and the way you are presenting your answer. As in some of the subjects logical and analytical thinking is required. So, you have to thoroughly understand about subject and question before answering it.
